• Once I sign up, what happens next?

  You will receive an email. Click on the link to verify your email and activate your account. Login to the OpenALPR portal and walk through our “Getting Started” wizard.

• How am I billed for Watchman service?

  Once you have entered your credit card information and selected your preferred account plan, billing will begin after your initial trial period and be charged monthly.

• What countries do you support?

  We support countries all over the world with characters in many different languages. If your country is not specifically supported, it may work well with another country that has a similar design.

• What if I have technical questions?

  We are always here to help and most answers can be found on our developer forum. If you can’t find the answers you are looking for, please contact us directly.

• What cameras work best with the software?

  Watchman works with any IP camera that supports H.264 and MJPEG streams. If you want to read license plates at night, you will need a camera that can "see" in the dark using infrared (IR) light.

• How is data secured in OpenALPR cloud?

  License plate and credit card data is encrypted via SSL during transmission. Additionally, the license plate data is stored on password-protected database systems that are kept isolated in a private network.
